The Bloodhound Gang is known, primarily, for two songs: "Bad Touch" or (more commonly) the "You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals" song and "Fire Water Burn" or "the roof is on fire song." Formed in King of Prussia, PA, the band featured lead singer/rapper/yeller Jimmy Pop Ali and Lupus, who together released the group's first EP, Dingleberry Haze, in 1994. In 1995 their Columbia debut album, Use Your Fingers, was released and bombed (losing the group their contract). Bassist Evil Jared, drummer Spanky G, and DJ Q-Ball were added for the next album One Fierce Beer Coaster. Their 2000 release of the hilariously named Hooray for Boobies reached umber 14 on the Billboard 200, and the video for "Bad Touch" received heavy rotation on MTV. In 2005 the band released Hefty Fine to no notable success...as of yet.
The Bloodhound Gang is perverted, loud, obnoxious, juvenile, and completely offensive to just about everyone...and it is just for those reasons they are great. Every now and then, the world needs to be shook up and we need to reminded that art (like people) can also be raunchy and a little off kilter. It takes a group like The Bloodhound Gang to make people take themselves a little less seriously and enjoy, just a little, the politically incorrect parts of human nature.
