STONE TEMPLE PILOTS/ex-VELVET REVOLVER singer Scott Weiland and his solo band recently played a stripped down set in the 98.7 FM Lounge in Los Angeles for a handful of fans. Video footage of the "Missing Cleveland" performance can be viewed below.
Weiland's business partner and touring guitarist Doug Grean recently
posted an update online: "Scott Weiland wants to establish an identity
for himself that's separate from STP and (VELVET REVOLVER), that's what
this "solo" tour is all about. So if you buy a ticket to a Scott
Weiland solo tour concert, you should be prepared to hear mostly Scott
Weiland solo songs." He went on to say, "What I guess I'm asking you for is to be patient and understanding and let Scott do what he wants to do for now. There will be plenty of time and chances for you to hear the STP boys rock the fuck out on their awesome catalog in the future." Weiland's band does play a couple of STP songs live, with Grean writing, "We all love STP (me and the solo band), we love playing their great songs, but we love playing ours too, and want Weiland wants to establish "Scott Weiland" apart from the previous bands he's been in."
Grean co-produced Weiland's second solo album, "Happy in Galoshes", which came out in late November through the duo's Softdrive Record label.
Although the band's future status is currently unclear, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS completed a six-month reunion tour late last year and also played in Los Angeles on New Year's Eve.

Weiland for English Laundry is a lifestyle brand for the true rock rebel. The overall concept is derived from the rock decadence of the 1960's, and inspirations were taken from Savile Row circa 1965 and renowned bands such as THE KINKS, THE BEATLES, and THE ROLLING STONES. Eclectic combinations of fabrics, patterns and color have been reformulated to replicate the rich rock culture that defined that era.
The collection boasts a variety of wovens, vests, t-shirts, pants, hats, ties and scarves. All fabrics are based on original vintage patterns circa 1965 through 1979 and have been reproduced for modern-day wear. Pants have a tailored narrow fit with flat fronts, and wovens feature bold chalk stripes, Prince of Wales plaids and tonic two-tone solids.
Retail price points range from $40-$120 with a targeted distribution to better department and specialty stores, think Nordstroms and all those killer rock stores that we can't get enough of! Weiland for English Laundry has successfully combined English Laundry's famous craftsmanship with Scott Weiland's infamous flare. Way to break into fashion Weiland!
Weiland for English Laundry can be found at the English Laundry flagship store (7519 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, California) and at www.globalrebels.com in February of 2009; so keep your eyes peeled for that and get ready to shop!
