PAPA ROACH Frontman JACOBY SHADDIX Interviewed!

Jacoby Shaddix, lead Papa Roach vocalist was recently interviewed in Tulsa's rock station, 95.5 KMOD.

PAPA ROACH recently scored the second No. 1 hit of their career and first at mainstream rock stations with "Lifeline", the current single from the band's new CD, "Metamorphosis". Lifeline is the bands 2nd number one album since, "Last Resort", which hit the top of the Modern Rock Chart back in 2000.

Papa Roach & CNN - Jacoby on the economy, shelters, and volunteering

That was Papa Roach front man Jacoby Shaddix talking about their new CD "Metamorphosis" and commenting on the impact the economy has had on U.S citizens.  Featured across major news networks including CNN, Reuters, and many local stations across the country, Jacoby talks about the inspiration behind Papa Roach's number one hit "Lifeline". In the clip shown above, Jacoby talks about all kinds of crazy things including, the work they've been inspired to take on! The band's currently working with a California charity called Loaves and Fishes, which is a charity that focuses on helping support people who are losing their homes and being forced to live in tents due the current state of our economy. Wow..I realized some people were getting the short end of the stick in the current economy, but I never realized the economy was that bad.. thinking of people living in tents makes me want to go camping! ;)

PAPA ROACH's fifth studio album, "Metamorphosis", sold 44,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release! The album also took position No. 8 on The Billboard 200 chart!

"Metamorphosis" was written at the legendary Paramour Mansion and recorded at NRG Recording Studios. The album was co-produced by Jay Baumgardener (311, EVANESCENCE, INCUBUS) and PAPA ROACH. James Michael (MÖTLEY CRÜE, SIXX: A.M.) also co-produced five tracks.

PAPA ROACH: "Metamorphis" (Album Review)

 

Papa Roach released a new album March 31, 2009 called Metamorphosis. The album features infectious songs like: “Hollywood Whore”, “I Almost” and “Carry Me”; which are the band’s most memorable songs on their new album, Metamorphosis. “Hollywood Whore” is by far the best upbeat, ear catching song on the album. It instantly caught my attention, with catchy lyrics, driving guitar riffs, front lined by memorable melodic vocals that will stay in your head long after the songs over! This album differs from their last, digging a little deeper then you would expect. Their last album was a little more fun and edgy while Metamorphosis is more passionate and digs a little deeper then any previous Papa Roach album ever released.

You can tell they were very passionate when writing the songs and putting the album together. Metamorphosis is a intimate rock album that so perfectly captures that light at the end of a tunnel; with song verses like, “the hardest one’s to love, are the one’s that need it most” and “It takes horns to hold up my halo and strength to get me through the fight”. The lyrics instantly capture  your attention and draws you in. The album sound and lyrics are consistent through out the entire album. Metamorphosis offers a glance into their vision, but it’s their song “Carry Me” that truly exhibits the energy and passion that is Papa Roach.

“Carry Me” responds through dynamic choruses, booming verses and unflinching consistency and delivery. Metamorphosis is sought to dig a little deeper than most, without succumbing to the conventionally stale implementation of shock tactics to convey their point. Jacoby Shaddix consistently turns in a better than average performance on vocals and takes the throne as the lead singer of Papa Roach. He can yell when need be, sing soft vocals on the melodic songs and his sound just perfectly blends in with the sound of the band. The lineup includes, Jacoby Shaddix singing away on vocals, Tony Palermo beating the shit out of the drums, Jerry Horton going to town on guitar and Tobin Esperance rocking out bass.
 
Metamorphosis offers scorching melodies that drive throughout their energy filled songs! Papa Roach is a band that slices, dices and entices! Their new album, Metamorphosis manages to successfully fuse alternative rock and modern rock and a passion that can’t be taught, to bring something new and fresh to the table. This album is truly a piece of art and worth picking up, if you haven’t yet heard it.

PAPA ROACH: 'Metamorphosis' First-Week U.S. Sales In 45-50K Range!

According to Hits Daily Double, the companion web site of music industry tip sheet HITS, PAPA ROACH's fifth studio album, "Metamorphosis", is on track to move between 45,000 and 50,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release!!!

PAPA ROACH's 2006 CD, "The Paramour Sessions", opened with nearly 37,000 copies — a drop from the 52,000 first-week performance of 2004's "Getting Away with Murder" — to debut at position No. 16 on The Billboard 200 chart.
