The Pulse of Radio reports that NINE INCH NAILS frontman Trent Reznor unveiled a new NIN-based application for the iPhone and iPod Touch in a video at access.nin.com this week. In the clip, Reznor, NIN art director Rob Sheridan, and Digg.com founder Kevin Rose walk viewers through the app's features, which include hours of fan remixes of NIN songs, live concert footage, and what Wired.com described as a "more user-friendly" version of NIN.com that can be accessed through the handheld Apple devices.
The app's most startling feature, however, is a GPS function that ties into Google Earth and lets fans connect with other NIN app users in their area or around the world. A post on a message board can be found through the app and the location of the person who posted it can be pinpointed within a two-mile radius, allowing fans in the same area to find each other, meet up for concerts, or do whatever else NIN fans like to do together.
