Mudvayne! New Video Interview

MUDVAYNE's fourth studio album, "The New Game", has sold 109,000 copies in the United States alone, since its November 18th release. The album sold 48,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release and landed at position No. 15 on The Billboard charts!

Mudvayne's new album, "The New Game" follows an extended period in which MUDVAYNE recorded two full length albums of new material. Singer Chad Gray and guitarist Greg Tribbett also went off to record and tour with the killer rock band known as, HELLYEAH!

Chad Grey also went live on air and told The Pulse of Radio that, "all the hard work paid off in creating Mudvaynes most mature album yet." He went on to say, "I really think that music kind of comes from where you're at in life and I think that every record we come out with, we learn a little more about each other. It's not easier to write songs for us, but it's a lot easier to write songs for us; we understand each other better. Some things usto take us forever to figure out, we're a little quicker now and able to kind of realize the direction that we're going in." The band has grown a lot since forming together in 2001 and they've been through so much over the years and have grown as a band as well as individuals.

Metal Til Death conducted an interview with bassist Ryan Martinie and drummer Matt McDonough of MUDVAYNE at Rams Head Live! in Baltimore, Maryland. Watch the 10-minute interview below.

Mudvayne, Nonpoint, In This Moment: Teaming up for U.S Tour!

Hard hitting rock fan? Here's your chance to see all your favorite hardcore artists! Mudvayne, Nonpoint and In This Moment are teaming up for some tripple trouble in 2009! They'll be teaming up for a U.S Tour soon and it's going to be crazy! MUDVAYNE's fourth studio album, "The New Game", sold 48,000 copies in the United States alone in its first week of release, If that's not enough they made their mark at position No. 15 on The Billboard 200 chart almost immediately after the album was released! This is less than one third of the opening tally registered by its predecessor, "Lost and Found", which premiered with 152,000 units back in April 2005 to land at No. 2.

There's many reasons for the difference in album sales, mostly due to back in 2005 people were actually still going out and buying records...now, everyone just gets their tunes for free off the net. There is however also I-Tunes which does one hell of a job selling singles...just sayin'.

NONPOINT's fifth studio album, "Vengeance", was released in November 2007 via Bieler Bros. Records. The CD was recorded at Bieler Bros. Studios in Pompano Beach, FL with producer Matt LaPlant (SIKTH).

IN THIS MOMENT's sophomore album, "The Dream", sold more than 8,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 70 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Mudvayne, Turn It Up!

Illinois metal foursome Mudvayne was founded in 1996. The band has an unorthodox approach to metal, yet is still considered part of the often-maligned nu-metal scene. The band released its first full-length album in 2000 with L.D. 50, after touring with Slipknot. Like Slipknot, Mudvayne is known for its aggressive music as well as its on-stage appearance, as the band is always adorned with creepy makeup and unusual costumes. Also like Slipknot, the band's members go by stage names: Kud, Gurrg, sPaG and Ryknow. These names were slightly altered when the band released its second album, The Beginning of All Things to End. The band then began to dress up like aliens at performances. Mudvayne released a third album, Lost and Found, in 2005 and began to lose the visual gimmicks and fake names. The band continues to grow in popularity and currently consists of vocalist Chad Gray, drummer Matthew McDonough, guitarist Greg Tribbett and bassist Ryan Martinie.
While they tend to get grouped in with tiresome nu-metal bands, much to their annoyance, Mudvayne has two things those other bands don't: originality and flair. In addition to their willingness to go the extra mile with their outlandish visual get-ups, which admittedly have been disappearing over time, the band's sound is heavier and more complex than most of its radio friendly contemporaries. Mudvayne's sound can range from the start-stop chugging riffage and hardcore influenced vocals of its breakout hit "Dig" to the more melodic "Forget to Remember." The band is able to merge a variety of influences, from Rage Against the Machine's rap rock to Tool's prog metal, into its own unique sound. As Mudvayne's career forges ahead, we can only wait and see what direction its music takes next.
