Former KORN Guitarist, Brian Head Welch Selected The Following Musicians for his Touring Band!

Former KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch has selected the following musicians for his touring band:

Andrew Gerold (Sandusky, Ohio) - Guitar
Ralph Patlan (Tempe, Arizona) - Guitar
Michael Valentine (Huntington, Virginia) - Bass
Dan Johnson (Fairfax, Virginia) - Drums

A U.S. trek is tentatively scheduled to kick off late spring 2009!

"Save Me From Myself" was produced by Brian Head Welch himself. It features renowned musicians Tony Levin and Josh Freese, and was mixed by Ralph Patlan and Bob Clearmountain. The album is a testimony of Head's life as he battled with drug addiction, leaving KORN, and finding spirituality.

KORN Frontman Jonathan Davis Interview!

The Pulse of Radio reports that KORN is returning to work after nearly a year off with a series of festival appearances this spring and summer 2009.

The band will start with Columbus, Ohio's Rock On The Range event in mid-May before heading over to Europe. Singer Jonathan Davis gave The Pulse of Radio a simple reason for why the group has decided to end its break. "We just want to get out and play," he said. "Miss playing. We've been on a huge break, longest break we've had ever in our career, and I'm just getting itchy to play KORN shows. I mean, I've been out playing solo shows and doing stuff like that, but I wanna get out there onstage and do a KORN show and play for people and just do what I do."

KORN has been on hiatus since completing the touring cycle for its untitled eighth studio album, which came out in July 2007.

Davis also confirmed to The Pulse of Radio that the instrumental members of the band are in the studio now, writing new material for their ninth album. Recording and release dates are yet to be announced.

KORN is currently without a record label since completing its two-album deal with Virgin Records.

Davis has been working on music for his solo debut for several months now, although he is also not ready to announce a release date.

Former Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, recently came out from behind the black curtain to let everyone know what’s really going on with him. He’s faced and overcame many obstacles in the past and talked about “the big question everybody wants to know”, why he left his former band Korn.

Brian left Korn and went on to do his own solo album, "Save Me From Myself"; which sold over 7,800 copies in the United States alone in its first week of release. The album also took center stage at position #63 on The Billboard top 200 chart. The CD was released on September 9, 2008 through Driven Music Group (distribution by Ryko/Warner Music Group), the label Welch co-founded with music execs Greg Shanaberger and Mark Nawara.

His new album, "Save Me From Myself" was produced by “Head” himself, who recorded the music off and on for the past two years. KORN, One Kick Ass Band!

Jonathan Davis, James Shaffer, Reginald Arvizu, Terry Bozzio, David Silveria, and Zac Baird are Korn! A metal band out of Bakersfield, California. Korn's self titled debut was released in 1994, and people went crazy! Although it has "disdain" for being affiliated with metal, "Shoots and Ladders" earned the first Grammy nomination for best metal song. Korn promoted its first album with minimal media exposure, heavily touring to promote it. Their first large tour found them opening for Marylin Manson and Danzig. They later went to Europe, and upon return to the US, they opened for Megadeth and Fear Factory. Life is Peachy immediately followed their debut album in 1996. Follow the Leader catapulted Korn to widespread commercial success in 1998, which sold 10 million copies worldwide. Korn then started it's own Family Values Tour, where it was accompanied by bands like Incubus, Orgy, Staind, and Limp Bizkit.
It's a combination between Helmet and Rage Against the Machine, which is a fairly happy medium. Korn also has some unique talent in the bassist department, the type of being new in its own right. Jonathan Davis augments with his own unique presence, which makes for a one hell of a band! The skill and lung fortitude involved in playing bagpipes alone wins Jonathan Davis recognition as a truly talented artist. Fans also admired Korn's initial willingness to take their material to the road, building a fan base organically, without any major support whatsoever. Fred Durst is one wild one, so the real question is...when's the next tour guys?
