AEROSMITH's WHITFORD To Sit Out Part Of Tour; Temporary Replacement Announced!

AEROSMITH guitarist, Brad Whitford will be sitting out for part of the band's upcoming Guitar Hero: Aerosmith tour dates! The tour is set to take place with special guests ZZ TOP as he recuperates from recent surgery. Bobby Schneck (who has played with GREEN DAY, WEEZER and SLASH) will be filling in for the guitarist. AEROSMITH regrets any inconvenience to its fans and thanks everyone for their support.

Steven Tyler and Joey Kramer of AEROSMITH confirmed during a June 2, 2009 appearance on the WZLX radio station in Boston, Massachusetts that they will play the whole "Toys In The Attic" album on their trek with ZZ TOP.

"Toys In The Attic", AEROSMITH's third album, was released in 1975 and is one of their most successful efforts to this day. It includes the classic singles "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion", as well as "Adam's Apple", "Big Ten-Inch Record", "Round And Round", "Uncle Salty" and the title track.

Aerosmith and Guitar Hero are giving fans the chance to be the opening act for the massive Guitar Hero: Aerosmith Presents, Aerosmith tour with special guests ZZ TOP! The tour kicks off June 10, 2009 in St. Louis, MO. with ZZ TOP joining the tour on June 21, 2009. The catch? Fans simply have to prove their mettle on Guitar Hero: Aerosmith!

In each city the tour hits, two victorious fret-burners will perform before ZZ TOP (or the support acts for the dates where ZZ TOP won't be performing), playing Guitar Hero: Aerosmith on stage in front of a massive audience! How much fun would that be? You know you'd all wana hop on stage and do your thing! One grand prize winner will be chosen from AEROSMITH's YouTube channel online and others will be chosen from participating radio stations. However, AEROSMITH are offering the victors way more than just rock immortality for a night.

Winners also receive two tickets to the show, a Guitar Hero: Aerosmith prize package and a personal pre-show congratulatory meet-and-greet with none other than AEROSMITH's Steven Tyler (vocals) and Joe Perry (guitar). AEROSMITH Singer's Autobiography Due In October!

AEROSMITH singer Steven Tyler's much-anticipated autobiography, "Does The Noise In My Head Bother You?", is scheduled for release on October 27, 2009. The book traces Tyler's youth in the Bronx, his early music career and influences, his legendary partnership with Joe Perry, the meteoric rise, fall, and rise of AEROSMITH over the last three decades, their music, his epic romantic life, his relationship with his four children (including actress Liv Tyler and actress and author Mia Tyler) life on the road and in the spotlight, the economics of the rock star business — and all the sex, drugs, and rock and roll a reader could ask for!

AEROSMITH: Working on New Album!

AEROSMITH will soon be heading into the recording studio with big wig producer, Brendan O'Brien; who has previously worked with VELVET REVOLVER, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, PEARL JAM, AC/DC and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, and many other kick ass bands! When asked about how Aerosmith felt about working with Brendan O'Brian, they said, "We're real excited about it, we've wanted to work with him for a long time." The guitarist added that they're hoping to get back to their roots by, "doing it more like we used to do the old records, which is the band playing live in the studio." Joe also revealed...Big News! AEROSMITH is planning to kick off a North American tour around June 1, 2009 and hope to have the album completed by then!

AEROSMITH's next studio album will be its first set of all-original material since 2001's "Just Push Play", so that should be exciting!

AEROSMITH Guitarist's Combo Amp Being Auctioned!

A actual touring and studio Gibson Goldtone GA30-RVS combo amp from AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry's personal collection is being auctioned via eBay by Perry's personal guitar tech for the last 17 years.

The amp was used in the studio for the making of AEROSMITH's "Just Push Play" record and was one of the amps used on tour in 2001. There were several of these amps used, making a wall of them in Joe's live rig. A letter of authenticity will be included in the sale, as well as a photo of Joe signing the amp (if the buyer chooses to have it signed). Good way to just throw in there..if the fan chooses to have it signed..you're god damn right they're going to want it singed..otherwise, what's the point?

Okay, let me get this straight...they're auctioning off an AMP?! Are you freaking serious, what fan in their right mind wants an amp lying around the house..I mean really, what the heck are you going to do with that big thing...store it in your living room, move the couch and put it right in front of the TV, Hang it on the wall..good luck with that! Whatever happened to e-baying things people want, like signed guitars, paintings even pictures...you know fan favorites? Guess they must have run out of those! If for some crazy reason you happen to get a wild hair in your ass and decide you can't live with out that particular amp and you're mind is stuck on.."I don't know what the hell i'm gonna do with that thing, but I have to place a bid"..Then do so at this location.
