According to Hits Daily Double, the companion web site of music industry tip sheet HITS, the new album from MARILYN MANSON, entitled "The High End Of Low", is on track to sell between 50,000 and 55,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release.
MARILYN MANSON's previous album, "Eat Me, Drink Me", opened with 88,000 units to debut at position No. 8 on The Billboard 200 chart. This marked a significant drop from the 118,000 first-week tally registered by its predecessor, "The Golden Age Of Grotesque", which landed at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart back in May 2003.
"The High End Of Low" is Manson's first album with longtime bassist Twiggy Ramirez since 2000's "Holy Wood".
An OZZY OSBOURNE guitar pick from 1980 is currently being auctioned via eBay! According to a posting on the auction page. "Greg Lowry, a California-based guitarist (formerly of the EDDIE MONEY band), was rehearsing in a Los Angeles recording studio where rehearsals for [Ozzy's] 'Blizzard of Ozz' album were also underway. While inside the studio, Greg grabbed a bunch of picks from a box in the Ozzy Osbourne rehearsal space and saved most of them. This is one of those picks."
The auction ends on June 2, 2009 with the current bid sitting at $250.
TOOL has expanded their upcoming summer tour, adding six more shows to the itinerary!! The trek now kicks off at the Mile High Music Festival in Commerce City, Colorado on July 18, 2009; with gigs slated to run through at least to early August!! The band's last scheduled appearance on this jaunt is at Chicago's Lollapalooza festival on the weekend of August 7, 2009. Do you have your tickets yet?
The members of TOOL have recently hinted that work is beginning on a new album, but further details have yet to surface. The band's last effort, "10,000 Days", came out in 2006. Frontman Maynard James Keenan has spent much of the last year and a half working with his side project PUSCIFER, as well as his Arizona-based vineyard, Page Springs Cellars. Keenan and winemaking partner Eric Glomski will continue touring Whole Foods outlets around the country next month for bottle signing sessions. That's kind of cool, it's different. I'm gonna hit that up!
