Scars on Broadway is a killer American-Armenian rock band that kicks some serious ass! These guys are bad ass! The band’s awesome and the current band line up features System of a Down members, Daron Malakian taking over on lead vocals and guitar and John Dolmavan kickin’ ass on the drums. For live performances the band is joined by Franky Perez, Danny Shamoun and Dominic Cifarelli. Prior members include, Casey Chaos, Greg Kelso and Zach Hill. The band formed in 2003 by Daron Malakian killin’ it on lead guitar, Casey Chaos singing away on vocals, Zach Hill rocking out on the drums and Greg Kelso kickin’ ass on rhythm guitar. In December 2005, Malakian stated in an interview that he "could release ten solo records tomorrow." and that he has"tons of material laying around. After these albums, - (Mezmerize and Hypnotize) - I'm gonna go off to learn how to brain and do something on my own, just like Serj. And no, System of a Down is not breaking up. We're just gonna do like KISS and put out our own solo records." Following System's hiatus, Daron Malakian announced his latest project - Scars on Broadway - a band which at the time included System of a Down bassist, Shavo Odadjian, himself and System of a Down drummer, John Dolmayan was in full effect and they were serious about this new band. Malakian has written and composed all the songs for Scars on Broadway and he’s shifted his songwriting direction away from hardcore metal and more into mesmerizing song-based work. "I don't feel we're the mosh-pit band," says Malakian. "That's just where I'm comfortable as a writer right now." The band and had a wide rage on influences everyone from David Bowie to Neil Young. After months of practice and song writing, Scars on Broadway jumped in the studio and began recording their first debut album, “Scars on Broadway” on September 27, 2007. Then on December 6th, 2007, the drum tracks for the album had been finished and the band moved into the next stage of recording. On July 25th, the band released a teaser for the album featuring the song "Babylon". They then went on to release, “They Say" as their first airplay single, which was a success with fans and radio personalities alike. It was accompanied by a video that was shot and released in late June 2008. The band performed their first live show on April 11, 2008 at the Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles, CA. They killed it and had everyone in the audience cheering and screaming like you would not even believe! The place was packed and they had fans on their feet and loving every minute of it. These guys are turning heads left and right! Their music is amazing and catching everyone’s attention, everyone from the music industry to fans alike. They all have prior music experience and the new band is gaining an enormous amount of respect amongst the music industry. They’re not one breath short of amazing and on July 25th, it was announced that their killer song, "They Say" would be a downloadable track for the video game Rock Band on July 29 for Xbox 360 and July 31 for PS3. Everyone knows how killer Rock Band is and it’s tough to get a track on the game, so when they found out their song was going to be a downloadable song for the video game Rock Band they were stoked! Scars on Broadway released their debut album, “Scars on Broadway” July 28 2008 and the album’s bad ass, all their songs are pretty killer! Their music is amazing and Daron Malakian’s voice is simply mesmerizing on vocals; with killer tunes like the mesmerizing, “World Long Gone” and the kick ass tune, “They Say”, these guys are bound to make an impression!

eagerly awaited fourth album, “BLACK BUTTERFLY.” The album – which
follows 2006’s RIAA platinum-certified blockbuster, “15” – is available now in
stores. If you liked “15,” you’ll love “BLACK BUTTERFLY.”
“Too Drunk…,” the slinky
first single from “BLACK BUTTERFLY,” is currently blowing up at multi-format
radio outlets nationwide. The track is a top 10 smash at Active Rock,
while also coming in this week at #11 with-a-bullet at Mainstream Rock.
What’s more, “Too Drunk…” is currently bulleting its way up the top 30 at
Alternative outlets across the country.
“Too Drunk…” has also become
a viral sensation. To date, the track has registered nearly 700,000
streams at Buckcherry’s MySpace page, www.myspace.com/buckcherry, while its down and dirty companion video has logged
close to 200,000 views at Buckcherry’s official You Tube channel, www.youtube.com/buckcherryvideos. The “Too Drunk…” clip is now in rotation at
FUSE, where Buckcherry recently appeared on an installment of the popular No.
1 Countdown. The band was also featured on VH-1’s Top 20 Countdown
from the Crüe Fest tour.
To celebrate the release of
“BLACK BUTTERFLY,” Buckcherry relaunched their official site, www.Buckcherry.com.
Among the highlights to be found on the full-service site is the companion
video to the album’s next single, “Don’t Go Away.”
Rightly renowned as true
hard rock road warriors, Buckcherry kicked off a major North American tour last
week, with shows slated through mid-October (see itinerary below). The
tour – originally billed as co-headline dates with Avenged Sevenfold, who
regrettably were forced to cancel their performances – sees support from
Shinedown and Saving Abel.
“BLACK BUTTERFLY” –
co-produced by Buckcherry’s own Keith Nelson and longtime Aerosmith
collaborator Marti Frederiksen (the co-writer of Buckcherry’s top 10 smash,
“Sorry”) – is being offered in a selection of formats: a standard CD
package; a “Limited Fan Club Edition” version, which comes with bonus tracks
and a one-year membership to the Buckcherry Fan Club; and a “Limited Fan Club
Edition” bundle which adds a “BLACK BUTTERFLY” T-shirt to the previous
package. For more information, visit www.Buckcherry.com.
Buckcherry has received
extensive coverage in a wide array of national publications, including a recent
Billboard cover story which declared the band to be “a platinum-plated
redemption story, years in the making.” Additional features have appeared
or will appear in Blender, Revolver, Guitar World, Men’s
Fitness, Modern Drummer, Metal Edge, Penthouse, and Hit
Parader.
Powered by four enormously
successful multi-format hit singles, “15” firmly established Buckcherry’s
status as
America’s
preeminent hard rock outfit. “Crazy Bitch” – the album’s Grammy Award-nominated
first single – caused a radio riot upon its 2006 release, reaching #2 at
Mainstream Rock and #3 at Active Rock. A string of further rock and
alternative radio hits followed, including “Next 2 You,”“Everything,” and the
CHR/Top 40 crossover smash, “Sorry.” The singles all exploded online,
with cumulative digital sales now surpassing three million. In addition,
“Crazy Bitch” spent over a year in the Nielsen Ringscan Top 30. The track
has since been certified as a Platinum Master Ringtone by the RIAA.
Buckcherry spent nearly two
full years on the road, performing more than 300 live shows in support of
“15.” More recently, the band lit up stages nationwide at this summer’s
“Crüe Fest,” a multi-artist bill which also included Mötley Crüe, Papa Roach,

Hollywood Undead is a brand new band whose music has been described as a mixture of rock, metal, hip hop and rap. They've been compared to a wide range of music, everyone from N’Sync rock wannabes with masks, to Eminem with a rock feel, to straight up Limp Bizcut! These guys have been the talk of the town, coming out with a different sound and delivering real life experiences to their fans through their tunes. The band consists of Lyrical Genius - Charlie Scene, Sweet Talker - J-Dog, Loud Mouth - Da Kurlzz, Singer aka the producer- Deuce, African Baritone - Funny Man and The Server- Johnny 3 Tears. They’ve all been friends their entire lives and have a really strong connection with each other. They’re not only high energy singers, song writers and musicians but they’re also very entertaining; cracking jokes in the middle of song sets and any chance they get, there’s never a dull moment with these guys! Hollywood Undead is a true crowd pleaser and they have a rapidly growing fan base that continues to grow by the day. They take music to a whole new level by performing Slipknot style with masks; they're not hardcore like Slipknot, but they have their own style; which makes them seem a little crazy and mysterious. They made their live debut in August 2008 at Virgin Mobile, after going head to head in a line up among four other bands. Hollywood Undead came out on top winning with over 2,500 votes in their favor! The place was packed and they had People going crazy! Everyone was on their feet screaming out their name and marking Hollywood Undead on their ballet. Their popular song Undead is featured on the Madden 2009 Soundtrack, which is pretty impressive in itself for a band as new as they are. It was released as an official single on August 19, 2008, making it the second popular single from their killer album Swan Song. My favorite song on the album happens to be No.5, which kicks some serious ass. The video was featured as our JuicyBands video of the week last week, it has a fun clubbing rock feel that makes you want to get up and dance! Though the group first signed a record contract in 2005, they spent nearly three years working on and perfecting their debut album before it was released. Hollywood Undead deceided to stick to what they knew and refused to switch up their entire album or style to impress anyone (anyone meaning their first label which never even released their album). They knew they had something and just went with it, they stuck to what they were good at and didn't compromise to change their ways or their lyrics. They attracted an enourmous amount of attention and continued selling out shows until they attracted record label, A&M/Octone Records who agreed to release their album "Swan Song". They signed with A&M/Ocatone Records and soon after, took the stage with rock legend Matalica and impressed a large number of people; gaining them more fans then ever. Hollywood Undead went on to release their debut album "Swan Song" on September 2, 2008. ”We put a lot of work into Swan Song. It was three years in the making. We're all proud of it. We think it's something new, and we're expecting big things from it” said the band. They went on to say, “I think every band that tried to do songs regarding Hollywood glamorized it to an extent. We do the opposite, we mix rock with rap and try and talk about real life in the rap stuff.” With that being said, all we can say is; there’s a certain charm to LA, because it can either make you or break you and Hollywood Undead is not one to be broken. With 2 EP’s under their belt, 3 singles and their killer new album that’s kicking ass left and right; there’s no doubt you’ll be hearing more of this catchy new band! So you may be asking yourself, exactly what kind of music is this? Well, since they can fit into so many categories it's really hard to say. They cover a wide range of music, because they have dark songs like "Black Dahlia", but they also have catchy, club banger-style songs like "Undead" and their super catchy hit, “No.5”, which is loved by fans and club goers alike. So is it rock, is it rap, is it club…we’re not really sure, all we know is that they're the next big thing and we’re lovin’ it!
Multi-Platinum Eleven Seven rock band, Buckcherry debuted their "Don't Go Away" video on MSN Music last week from their brand NEW album, Black Butterfly (which hits stores 09.16.08). Here's their new video for "Don't Go Away"
Buckcherry recently finished their summer stint on Crüe Fest (alongside Mötley Crüe, Papa Roach, Sixx:A.M. and Trapt) during which they played to over half a million rock fans in just over two months! Talk about getting the show on the road; these guys went out and did some major non-stop touring this year and they had so much fun, they're ready to get out there and do it all over again! Their next tour will be with Avenged Sevenfold and will begin in early September. (www.Buckcherry.com for more details)
